    1. Seen: MCW member AR Sugeng Riyadi from Rowasiya Observatory Central Java Indonesia reported: The old crescent of Jumadal Ula 1445 AH was seen by binocular on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from Rowasiya Observatory at Bendo Ketitang Juwiring Klaten Central Java Indonesia. The sky was clear.

    • New Crescent Moon of Jumada-at-Thania 1445:
    The Astronomical New Moon (conjunction) is on December 12, 2023 (Tuesday) at 23:32 UT.
    On December 12, the moon can not be seen any where in the world. On December 13, it can be seen with difficulty in South Africa and Central America, and with ease in South America. On December 14, it can be seen in almost the whole world (See visibility curves).

    The earliest reported sighting of the new crescent was on December 14, 2023 from Sydney, Australia.

Not Seen: MCW member Dr Shabbir Ahmed, President of Qubaa association of Western Sydney, NSW reported: Today (Wednesday) 13th of December 2023, the Hilal of Jamadiyul Ukhra 1445 has NOT been sighted anywhere in Australia. Therefore, we will complete the 30 days of the month of Jamadiyul Oula and the month of Jamadiyul Ukhra will begin from Friday, 15th of December 2023.

      1. Not Seen: MCW member HiMY SYeD from Brampton, Ontario reported: I searched from the new moon with a partly cloudy sky above the horizon this evening. I could not spot the crescent.

    • Grenada:


      1. Not Seen: MCW member Farid Patel from Grenada reported: The moon to commence month of jamadal ukhraa was not sighted in Grenada or the region.

    • Indonesia:


      1. Not Seen: MCW member AR Sugeng Riyadi from Rowasiya Observatory reported: The new crescent of Jumadal Tsaniya 1445 AH was not sighted on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from Assalaam Observatory at PPMI Assalaam, Pabelan Kartasura Sukoharjo Central Java Indonesia. The west sky was cloudy.

Not Seen: The Moon-Sighting Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Friday, December 15th, 2023 will be the first day of the month of Jumada al-Akhira, 1445 A.H. for the entire region of North America. There were no verified sightings of the crescent moon by the naked eye at sunset on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023, in any region of North America. Therefore, Thursday, December 14th, 2023 will be the last day of Jumada al-Ula, 1445. A.H.

Not Seen: MCW member Mohamedraza H.Janmohamed from Sanford FL reported: The Moon-sighting Sub-committee wishes to inform the community that there were no verified reports of the new crescent for Mahe Jamadi-ul-Aakher 1445 AH on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Therefore, FRIDAY, December 15, 2023 is established as the 1st Day of Mahe Jamadi-ul-Aakher, 1445 AH.

Seen: MCW member Moussa Khalife from Sydney, NSW reported: Today is Thursday 14th of December 2023 We have sighted the moon for jamada al Thani the weather was clear and the crescent was quite high and easily to be seen , so tomorrow Friday 15th of December is the first of jamada al thani 1445H.

Seen: MCW member Zaid Duch from Nadiad, Gujrat reported: �I, Zaid Duch, sighted the crescent moon (Hilal) of 1st day of Jumada at-Thani 1445; today on Thursday, 14th of December 2023 (29 Jumada al-Awwal 1445); at location Navi Masjid, Nadiad, Gujarat, India. The Crescent moon was first sighted at 17:56 with Binocular and later sighted with Naked Eye at 18:02.�

      1. Seen: Mr Habiburhman Yunus from Alkhor reported: The crescent moon for the month of Jumada Al-Thani 1445 was sighted today Thursday 14th December here in Al Khor, Qatar.

    • USA:


      1. Seen: MCW member Dr Javad Torabinejad from Blacksburg VA reported: This evening (Thursday, December 14, 2023), the crescent moon was sighted in Blacksburg, VA. Using a pair of binoculars (7X50), I sighted the crescent at 1:58 pm EST. I could not see it with naked eye, however. The horns were approximately at 1:00 and 4:30 O'clock. The sky was clear.
        Later in the day, I attempted an evening sighting. I arrived at my sighting location at 4:56 pm (actual sunset 5:06 pm). The western horizon was mostly clear. Using a pair of binoculars (7X50), I located the crescent at 4:58 pm, followed by naked eye sighting. The horns were approximately at 1:30 and 6:30 O'clock. I left the sighting location at 5:45 when the moon was still a few degrees over horizon (moonset: 6:42 pm).
