According to The Saudi Supreme Court, August 23, 2017 (Wednesday) is the 1st day of Dhul Hijjah 1438. The day of �Arafah � the main day of Hajj - is on Thursday, August 31, 2017 and the Eidul Adha 1438 is on September 1, 2017 (Friday).
New Crescent Moon of Dhul-Hijjah 1438:
The Astronomical New Moon (conjunction) is on Monday August 21, 2017 at 18:30 UT. On August 21, is the sun eclipse, and the crescent moon cannot be seen anywhere in the world. On August 22, the moon may not be seen in Europe, and it will be hard to see in South-East Asia. On August 22, the moon can easily be seen in West coast of Africa and Americas. On August 23, almost the whole world can see the moon (See visibility curves).
Following its adopted current criteria for Eidul Adha, the Fiqh Council of North America follows the Hajj authorities' announcement of the day of �Arafah. Eidul Adha is on the day following the day of �Arafah.
The earliest reported sighting of the new crescent came from Harare, Zimbabwe on August 22, 2017.

I, today the evening 22 of August 2017, Tuesday just upon local sunset tried in vain to see Zulheja Helal on Kabul city horizon, even with a pair of binaculars of 10x50. However, the sky to the west of Kabul city was somewhat hazy. Therefore, tomorrow Wednessday 23 of August will be Inshalah, the 30th of Zulquadah and Thursday 24th of August will be the first of Zulheja.

On August 22, the crescent moon was not sighted anywhere in Australia, therefore. Inshallah tomorrow 23rd August Wednesday will be the 30th of Dhulqa'da and 24th August, Thursday will be the First Of Dhulhijjah 1438 AH.

The Crescent moon was not sighted in Melbourne and any where in Australia today 22/8/17 Tuesday. Therefore 1st Zul Hajjah will commence in Australia on 24/8/17 and Eid on 2/9/17 Saturday Inshallah.

The Hilal of Dhul Hijjah has not been sighted anywhere in Australia on Tuesday, 22nd of August 2017. Therefore Moonsighting Australia has declared that the month of Dhul Hijjah 1438 will start from Thursday, the 24th of August 2017 and EID UL ADHAA will be celebrated on Saturday the 2nd of September 2017.

Mohammed Patel reporting from Jama Masjid in Bridgetown, Barbados for today, Tuesday,22nd August, 2017. Crescent SEEN at approximately 6:45 p.m. local time.Therefore we had 29 days of Dhul-Qi'dah. Insha'Allah, the 1st of Dhul-Hijjah will be on Wednesday 23rd August, 2017. Eid-ul-Adha will be on Friday,1st September, 2017.

From Giza (30.0N, 31.2E) Egypt, Aug 22nd, Crescent NOT seen. I started my attempt to observe the new crescent, in vain of course, at 18:50, just after Maghrib prayers. Local sunset was at 18:30. The Arc of vision was less than 8 degrees. I could not see it, not even with my 8x50 binoculars. For the record, at 5 degrees of solar depression, the sub-solar limb of the moon would have been more than 3 mag/arcsec^2 below the threshold for point source visibility, for otherwise excellent weather. And the weather wasn't excellent

On August 22, the moon was sighted in Corriverton after Magrib Salaah. The sky was clear and the moon was high so everyone could see it who look.
We the brothers of Skeldon and nearby Jamaah saw it. The Central Moon Sighting Committee of Guyana (CMSCG) has declared the 1st of ZHUL HIJJAH 1438AH to be on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Therefore, EIDUL ADHAA 1438AH will be observed on Friday, September 01, 2017

On August 22, 2017 (Tuesday) THE MOON WAS NOT SEEN BY NAKED EYE in Bengkulu, Sumatera. Further, The HILAL for Dzulhijja 1438 was NOT SEEN by myself and two others, at Tapak Paderi Beach in Bengkulu. The horizon had light clouds and a little haze but had many cracks in between them so the HILAL should be able to be have been seen. There are a couple of Hilal look-alikes but as it was moving sideways we quickly determined it was only the Sun's reflection onto a moving cloud that was far away.
However, elsewhere in Indonesia, others have reported the Hilal as SEEN BY TELESCOPE, which was possible.

The Hilal of Dzulhijjah 1438 AH was NOT SIGHTED on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 from Sukuh Hill Karanganyar Central Java Indonesia. The west horizon was hazy and the hilal position was covered by thick clouds.
This event was attended by Mayor and Vice Mayor of Karanganyar District, Team of Gara-Syariah Ministry of Religious Affairs of Karanganyar and more than 100 moslem, Team of CASA, Solo Astro Club� Obs. Special thanks to mr. Ichsan Sani, mr. Muchlas and mr. Joko.
However, The Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in the Sidang Isbath decided that Dzulhijjah 1st, 1438 A.H starts on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

The new Moon has not been sighted in Mauritius on Tuesday 22 August 2017. Hence Wednesday 23 August will be the 30th Zil Qadh and Thursday 24 August will be the 1st Zil hajj.

I was not able to sight the new moon of Dhul-Hijja in the region of Rabat after Maghreb of 22-August, with naked Eyes.
In a statement, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of Morocco said that the observation of the crescent of the month of Dhul-Hijja 1438 AH, was confirmed in the evening of Tuesday 29 Dhul-Qiida 1438 corresponding to 22 August 2017 .
On this, 1 Dhul-Hijja 1438 AH corresponds to Wednesday, August 23, 2017 and Aid al-Adha corresponds to Friday 1st of September.

To avoid erroneous, Hilaal sighting groups was arranged right round the country.
Negative reports received CGM as it was cloudy right round Srilanka.
Hence the Hilaal Committee conference at CGM which comprises CGM Trustees,CGM Hilaal Committee,ACJU Hilaal Committee,representatives of MRCA and Hanafi Jumuah Masjid decided under the leadership of the CGMH Committee president Moulana Abdul Hameed (Bahji) along with ACJU and MRCA to complete the proceeding month as 30 days and start the month of Dhui-Hijjah on 24-8-2017CE. As per the decision the day of Arafah falls on 1st of September and Eid on 2nd of September.

The crescent moon to commence the month of Dhul Hijjah 1438 AH was looked for after the sunset of Tuesday 22nd August 2017. Reports from all committees locally and regional confirm that the moon was SIGHTED. We have accepted these reports and has declared that the month of Qa'dah 1438 AH has completed 29 days and the 1st night of Dhul Hijjah 1438 AH is the night of Tuesday 22nd August 2017, and the first day of Dhul Hijjah 1438 AH is the day of Wednesday 23th August 2017.

Moon was not sighted anywhere in Britain. However, moon was sighted in Morocco, our closest Muslim country. Wifaqul Ulama have therefore decided that after 29 days of Dhul-Qa'dah, the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1438 will begin from Wednesday, the 23rd of August 2017.

This evening (Tuesday, August 22, 2017), the crescent moon was not seen in Blacksburg, VA (Lat: 37� 15' 40" N, Lng: 80� 26' 56" W, and elevation: 646 meters). I arrived at my sighting location a few minutes before sunset (sunset: 8:04 pm EDT). Using binoculars, my friend and I started scanning the western horizon. The lower portion of the horizon was cloudy. We ended the session prior to moonset (moonset: 8:49 pm). At 8:15 pm, the temperature, dew point, relative humidity, and pressure were 79.2 F, 63.7 F, 59%, and 30.03 in, respectively.

Today ,Wednesday 23 of August 2017 from 6:56 to 7:20 pm local time ,I could see the Zulheja Helal with naked eyes ,the elevation was about 4 degree above horizon, beside that the west sky of Kabul was rather hazy.

I was at the Shooting club, Giza, (30.045N, 31.2E), this afternoon, Wed, August, 23rd. I began my observation attempt at 18:20 (UT+2). Within 30 seconds, the Hilal of Dhi'lHijjah appeared. The horns were at 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock respectively. Sunset was at 18:28 (UT+2). It grew steadily more apparent. Sunset was at 18:28. After Maghreb prayers, at 18:50 the horns were at 2:30 and 6:30 o'clock respectively. No optics were required.

On August 23, the Hilal was easily seen by naked eye in all places which had a clear view or partially obstructed view, throughout Indonesia. In Bengkulu it was CLEAR WITH A BIT OF HAZE near the Horizon. Therefore, for those who follow by naked eye reports, 1st Zulhijja starts tonight and tomorrow until Maghrib. 1 Zulhijja = 24 August.
